About this project
This is a basement we are finishing right now in Bolton. The house had a large open basement with bare concrete walls, and the owners want to turn it into finished living space.
Before any framing went up we checked the foundation walls. Several walls had vertical cracks, and one showed stains from water coming through. We repaired the cracks first, so the new walls would not hide a leak.
We laid protection on the floors and stairs upstairs, then framed the basement with steel studs, including the bulkheads around the ducts and the frames around each window.
