Most basements we open up in Mississauga have at least one of these. We sort it out first so the finished space stays warm and dry.
A damp corner, a stained wall or a past flood. We find where the water comes from and add a sump pump or a backwater valve where it makes sense, then waterproof before we frame.
Bare concrete pulls the warmth out of the room. We insulate the walls and use subfloor and flooring made for below grade.
Split-levels and older bungalows often have bulky ductwork and steel posts right where you want a room. We plan the layout around them and box the ducts into tidy bulkheads.
A basement bathroom takes the pressure off the whole house. We rough in the drains and build a full bathroom or a powder room with a proper fan.
From Lakeview and Port Credit to Meadowvale, Malton and Churchill Meadows, the age of the house shapes the job. Read more about our basement finishing service, or see everything we do on the Mississauga page.
Post-war bungalowsCommon in Lakeview, Cooksville and Malton. Full-height basements, often with older wiring and plumbing that we update as part of the work.
1970s to 90s split-levelsErin Mills, Meadowvale and Clarkson. The lower level sits partly above ground, and its bigger windows make bright family rooms and home offices.
Newer two-storey homesChurchill Meadows, Lisgar and East Credit. Deep, open basements that are ready for a rec room, a gym or a separate suite.

Many homeowners ask us about a basement apartment, for family or for rental income. We build the whole suite, and when the project needs a permit we prepare the drawings and the application.
We measure the basement, draw the plans and prepare the application when the project needs one.
Larger bedroom windows cut into the foundation with a proper window well. Read about our egress window installation.
A side or rear door so the suite has its own way in and nobody walks through the main floor.
A kitchenette or a full kitchen and a bathroom, with the plumbing and venting planned from the start.
The walls, ceilings and doors between the two units, built properly and inspected as the work goes.
We explain the full process on our legal basement apartments page.

We hired CNG Contracting for a full home and basement renovation of our bungalow, which included disability-friendly access, new electrical throughout the house, new water lines from the city to the house, and new sewage lines to the city main connections. The project started on January 1st and was completed on March 20th, right on schedule.
From the initial planning and design to the final inspection and handover, Claudio and his team were professional, responsive, and easy to work with. They took the time to understand our needs and answered every question clearly. Most importantly, he was patient and helped complete the details to claim the appropriate disability rebates and refunds.
We know that no renovation is ever perfect, but what truly sets CNG Contracting apart is how quickly and effectively they handled every challenge that came up. Every concern was addressed immediately and with care.
Our new basement (with wet bar and rental-ready rough-ins) and main floor kitchen, staircase, and added powder room turned out beautifully and exactly where we needed them, as we envisioned.
Even after completion, when minor attention was needed, Claudio personally followed up right away and ensured everything was taken care of with his team.

We will definitely recommend CNG contracting to family and friends and we are looking forward to call Claudio for our kitchen remodeling.
When we first met Claudio, we had a great experience as he walked us through the entire project process according to what we needed; he made a drawing on the spot and accurately created the estimate.
Our questions were answered as we went along the process, including the selection of materials. He showed us which were high-quality and worth paying for.
When we started the project, the CNG Contracting team showed up on time, and everything was according to schedule. They had a process assuring the completion stage was on time, and we had no delay.
Something very important to us was that we had control of the finances; the payment schedule concluded after the stages, not before. Also, it was noticeable the system was created to protect our investment and we believe that the transparency that CNG Contracting runs their business is very reliable and trustworthy giving us access to a follow-up system where we could keep an eye on the project from the pictures and videos uploaded regularly.
Our experience with Customer service was perfect, whenever we had a question or need, any time of the day, we contacted Claudio and had all our questions explained and answered.
The CNG Team had the house protected from day ONE, covering floors/ staircase/ hallways and creating containments to minimize the dust throughout the project; overall, the house was clean, safe and organized every day.,
At the end of the project, we had a Professional (PDI) inspection and warranty included for any minor adjustments or touch-ups needed, as well as a 2-YEAR WARRANTY for all our plumbing / electrical and HVAC installed AND INSPECTED by CNG.
If you want to be surprised and impressed with things you were not expecting, CNG is the team to hire! They go above and beyond your expectations, no doubt about that; they are a very passionate team of guys who love what they do, respect your home, and protect your investment.
That’s why We would only recommend CNG Contracting to anyone looking for a (AAA) licensed, insured, respectful, honest, reliable, organized and professional people to do any renovation project in your home, from bathrooms, kitchens, basements, or creating an open concept adding value to your home as we did with ours.
Thank you
Claudio and your CNG Contracting Team!!!
We had a leak in our basement in May of 2022 which caused quite a bit of damage, this was mainly used as a play area for my two sons ages 5 and 2. With a lot of back and forth for months with the preferred insurance company’s contractor which clearly showed a lack of urgency on their part to repair the damages and frankly silently refused the work.
Giving the preferred insurance company’s every opportunity to fix the damages I was forced to find my own contractor in mid October of 2022 (yes, you read correctly 5 months later). With no where to turn I did a google search and came across Claudio’s company CNG Contracting. At first, I was hesitant and gave Claudio a high-level outline of my situation, which he was very honest and direct with me which put me at ease. Once he understood the situation, he came over to assess the damage and I have to say I was very impressed!
He explained how the process works and how he operates. You will receive an estimate with a timeline and cost brake down. You’ll also receive pictures showing the progression of the project (start, middle and finish). You get a real time update as to how things are going from day to day which was VERY accurate! Claudio’s crew was very clean, polite, courteous and their craftsmanship speaks for itself as it at a very high level!
I would highly recommend CNG Contracting as they do what they say and follow through. CNG Contracting is one of the good guys!

Most basement renovations cost $40 to $60 per square foot, so a 1,000 sq. ft. basement usually lands between $40,000 and $60,000. A bathroom, a kitchen or a second unit is quoted separately after we see the space.
The construction usually takes about 3 weeks. From the first plans to the final touches, a basement takes about 27 days on average. A second unit takes longer.
In many homes, yes. It depends on the ceiling height, the windows, the entrance and the layout. We look at the space on the first visit and tell you what it would take.
Yes. When the project needs a permit, we prepare the drawings and the application and book the inspections as the work goes.
Yes, and we always do that first. We find the source of the water, add a sump pump or a backwater valve where it makes sense and waterproof the walls before any framing goes up.
In most cases, yes. The work stays downstairs, and the power and water are usually on. If they need to be off for longer, we tell you ahead of time.

Tell us what is down there now and how you want to use it. We will visit, check for moisture and send a written quote with the scope and the price before any work starts.
