What is the problem with your floor?

Glazed tile and polished surfaces lose grip with water or soap on them. We apply a slip-resistant finish or a textured topcoat that gives your feet more hold.
Tearing out tile is messy and slow. In many cases microcement can go over tile that is firmly bonded, after we fill the grout lines and prime it.
Grout lines collect dirt and stains. Microcement gives you one continuous surface with no grout to scrub, sealed against water.

Choosing a slip-resistant finish
Bathrooms, kitchens and entrances are where floors get wet most often, and glazed tile or polished concrete can turn slippery as soon as water or soap is on it. A slip-resistant finish adds texture to the surface so shoes and bare feet have more grip. Microcement is a thin, cement-based coating, a few millimetres thick, that can go over many existing floors and walls.

What to expect
Microcement goes on in several thin coats, and each one needs time to dry, so the work is usually spread over more than one visit. A more textured finish gives more grip but is a little harder to clean, so we help you find the right balance for each room. It needs a solid base without moving cracks, which is why we check the floor before we give you a price.

Questions about slip-resistant flooring
Can microcement go over my existing tile?
Often, yes, if the tile is firmly bonded and not cracked. We check it first and fix or remove loose tiles before coating.
Is microcement slippery?
A smooth finish can be slippery when wet. For bathrooms and entrances we use a textured or anti-slip topcoat that gives more grip.
Can it be used in a shower?
Yes, with the right preparation and sealer. Showers usually also need a waterproofing membrane underneath, which we price separately if you need one.
How long before I can walk on it?
Usually it takes light foot traffic within a day or two of the last coat, and full curing takes longer. We give you the exact times for the product used.
Can you just make my current floor less slippery?
Yes. On some tile and concrete floors a clear anti-slip coating is enough, without changing the look. We tell you if your floor is a good fit.
