Old doors warp and frames shift over time. If adjusting it isn't enough, a new door fitted to the opening is the lasting fix.
An old exterior door often has worn seals or a bent slab. A new pre-hung door comes with fresh weatherstripping and a threshold that seals.
Split panels, holes and broken edges are hard to repair well. We replace the door and reuse or replace the hardware, as you prefer.

Slab door or pre-hung door: which one you need
There are two ways to replace a door. A slab is just the door itself, hung on your existing frame. A pre-hung door comes already mounted in a new frame, with hinges and, for exterior doors, a threshold and weatherstripping. The right choice depends mostly on the condition of your frame.
When a new frame makes sense
- The frame is out of square or the door has never closed well.
- Drafts come in around the frame, not just the door.
- The sill or lower jamb is soft or rotted.
- You want to change the swing direction or the door size.
What to expect
Interior slabs usually need to be trimmed to fit and have the hinge and latch holes cut to match your frame. Exterior doors take longer because the frame has to be sealed against water and air, and the threshold set so rain runs away from the house. Most new doors come primed or factory finished. We measure first, explain both options and agree on the price before ordering anything.

Can you install a door I bought myself?
Yes. Tell us the size and type when you book. We check that it fits the opening before we start.
Do I need a slab or a pre-hung door?
If your frame is solid and square, a slab is often enough. If the frame is damaged or drafty, a pre-hung door is usually the better choice, and we advise you after looking at it.
Can you reuse my old handle and hinges?
Often, yes, if they are in good shape and fit the new door. We can also install new hardware.
Will the new door come painted?
Most new doors come primed or with a factory finish. Painting or staining is quoted separately if you want us to do it.
Can you put in a storm door at the same time?
Yes. Mention it when you book so we plan both doors in one visit.
