Usually it's a cut or loose cable connection, or a failed transformer. We trace the run, fix the connections and replace failed fixtures.

Choosing pathway and step lights
Lighting for paths and steps has one main job: help people see where they're walking. Most homes use a low-voltage system, where a transformer plugs into an outdoor outlet and lowers the power to 12 volts. The cable is safer to handle and can be buried shallow along beds and paths.
Signs you need better lighting

Path lights on short stakes light the ground in pools along a walkway. Step lights fit into risers or side walls and light each tread. Warm white LEDs are bright enough without glare. Are low-voltage lights safe around kids and pets?
They run at 12 volts, far below household power, so the cable is much safer to have in the garden. Only the transformer plugs into the outlet.
Are solar lights a good option?
Solar lights are easy to place but often dim and short-lived in winter. Wired low-voltage lights are brighter and more reliable all year.
Do I need an outdoor outlet?
Yes, the transformer plugs into one. If there isn't an outlet nearby, adding one is new wiring, quoted separately and done to code.
Can you add step lights to concrete or stone steps?
Often yes, by mounting them on a side wall or drilling into the riser. We check the material and explain what's possible first.
Will the cable get cut when I garden?
We bury it along edges and beds where you're less likely to dig, and we show you where it runs.
