What is the problem with your water or filter?
Choose the one closest to your situation.
City tap water is treated with chlorine, which some people can taste. A carbon filter under the sink usually removes most of the taste and smell.
Loose fittings or tubing not pushed fully into the connector are the usual cause. We reseat or replace the fittings and check for drips with the water on.
Clogged cartridges are the most common reason. We replace them, and on reverse osmosis systems we also check the pressure and the storage tank.

Whole-house systems on the main water line, new shutoff valves or drilling stone counters are quoted separately if needed, and plumbing behind walls is outside our scope.
Choosing an under-sink water filter
Under-sink filters clean the water you drink and cook with, without filtering every tap in the house. They connect to the cold water line in the sink cabinet and feed a small faucet beside the main one.
Common types
- Carbon filters improve taste and smell, and are the simplest to install and maintain.
- Multi-stage filters add extra cartridges for finer particles.
- Reverse osmosis systems remove more dissolved minerals, but need a drain connection and a small storage tank.
- A fridge water line can be connected to the filter so ice and water are filtered too.
What to expect
Before the visit, check that the cabinet has some empty space and that the cold water shutoff under the sink turns easily. Reverse osmosis takes more room and more time to install than a simple carbon filter. Most cartridges need changing every 6 to 12 months, depending on the model and how much water you use. We show you how to change them and write the date on the housing.

Questions about water filtration system hook-up
Can you install a filter if my sink has no hole for the extra faucet?
Usually yes. We use the sprayer or soap dispenser hole, or drill the sink where the material allows. Stone counters need special drilling, and we tell you first.
Can you connect my fridge to the filter?
Yes, if the fridge is close enough to run tubing. We connect it to the filtered line and check for leaks behind the fridge.
Do you install whole-house water filters?
Whole-house systems connect to the main water line and are quoted separately. We look at your setup first and explain what the job involves.
How often do the cartridges need changing?
Most need changing every 6 to 12 months, depending on the model and how much you use. We show you how, and can also do it on a later visit.
Does a reverse osmosis system send water down the drain?
Yes, some water goes to the drain as it filters, and the amount depends on the system. We explain this before you choose one.
