Home exterior winterizing in Toronto
Want the outside of your house ready before the first freeze? In one visit we shut off and drain outdoor taps, store hoses and patio items, check door and window seals, clear vents, and point out anything that could cause trouble in winter.
The price is agreed before we start. If we find something unexpected, we stop and show you first.

What worries you about winter?
Choose the one closest to your situation.
Weatherstripping flattens and caulking cracks over time. We check each exterior door and window and replace the worst seals.
Water left in an outdoor tap can freeze and split the pipe. We drain the taps, close the inside valves and store the hoses.
Furniture, cushions and umbrellas last longer stored dry. We move, cover or stack them where you want them.
Tell us what you see or hear. Write it in the booking form or message us on WhatsApp, and we'll tell you what it is.

A fall checklist for the outside of your home
Most winter damage starts with small things left over from summer: a hose still on the tap, a cracked bead of caulking, a vent covered by leaves. Taking care of them in the fall is far easier than dealing with a burst pipe or a soaked wall in January.
What to check before the first freeze
- Outdoor taps drained and hoses disconnected.
- Door sweeps and weatherstripping that close without gaps.
- Caulking around windows, doors and pipe openings.
- Dryer, furnace and bathroom vents clear of leaves and nests.
- Gutters clear, with downspouts emptying away from the house.
Timing the visit
Late September to early November usually works best. Caulking and sealants need dry weather above freezing to bond, and taps should be drained before the first hard frost. If your gutters still need clearing after the leaves fall, you can add gutter cleaning to the same booking, or plan it as a short second visit once the trees are bare.

Questions about exterior winter prep
What does a winterizing visit cover?
Outdoor taps and hoses, door and window seals, exterior vents and storing patio items. We agree on the exact list with you before the visit.
Can you clean my gutters at the same time?
Yes, as an added service. It works best after most leaves have fallen, so it may be planned as a second visit.
Do you service the furnace?
No, that needs a heating technician. We only make sure the outside furnace vents are clear of leaves, nests and snow.
Can you get my snow blower ready too?
Yes. Snow blower prep and setup is a separate service, and you can add it to the same visit.
Where do you store the patio furniture?
In your garage, shed or basement, wherever you prefer. If there is no room, we stack and cover it in place.
