Covers or tamper-resistant outlets
Plug-in caps are simple but easy to lose, and a child can sometimes pull them out. Sliding cover plates replace the regular plate and close on their own. Tamper-resistant outlets have built-in shutters that only open when both prongs push in at the same time. Newer homes usually have them already, and older outlets can be swapped on the existing wiring. We check what you have and suggest what fits each room.

Questions about corner guards and outlet covers
Are tamper-resistant outlets better than plug-in caps?
In most cases, yes. The shutters are built in, so there's nothing for a child to pull out or for adults to lose.
Do corner guards damage furniture?
Most use adhesive pads that can mark some finishes. We test a hidden spot first and tell you if a clip-on type is a better fit.
Can you childproof outlets behind furniture?
Yes. We can fit cover plates or swap the outlet, and suggest moving furniture so cords and power bars are out of reach.
Do you need to turn off the power?
Only for the outlets being swapped. We switch off one circuit at a time and test each outlet before turning the power back on.
What about corner guards for hallway walls?
We fit clear or white corner protectors that suit the wall. They're attached with adhesive or small screws, depending on the finish.
