Weatherstripping for drafty doors and windows in Toronto
Feel cold air around your windows or along the edges of your doors? We find where the drafts get in and seal them with new weatherstripping, such as kerf seals, V-strip or foam tape, matched to each door and window.
The price is agreed before we start. If we find something unexpected, we stop and show you first.

Where do you feel the draft?
Choose the one closest to your situation.
The old weatherstripping is usually flattened, torn or missing. We remove it and fit new seals that suit your frame.
Window sashes lose their seals over time. We add V-strip or foam seals where they fit without stopping the window from opening.
If light gets in, so does air. We close the gap with a thicker seal, or tell you if the door itself has moved and needs adjusting.
Tell us what you see or hear. Write it in the booking form or message us on WhatsApp, and we'll tell you what it is.

Choosing the right weatherstripping
Weatherstripping is the flexible seal between a door or window and its frame. It flattens, cracks and tears with use, often within a few years on a busy door. Replacing it is one of the simplest ways to make a room feel warmer and quieter.
Signs it's time
- You feel cold air along the edges when the door or window is closed.
- You can see daylight around the door.
- The seal is torn, flattened or hard.
- The seal has been painted over and no longer squeezes.
- Frost or condensation forms at one corner of the frame.
Types of weatherstripping
Most newer exterior doors use kerf seals that press into a groove in the frame, so they are easy to replace with a matching profile. V-strip works well on the sides of sash windows. Foam tape is quick and suits windows that are rarely opened, but it wears out faster. We match the seal to your frame, so the door still latches and the window still opens.

Questions about weatherstripping
How do I find where the drafts are?
On a windy day, hold a damp hand or a thin strip of paper near the edges. Movement or a cold spot shows where the seal has failed.
Will new weatherstripping make my door hard to close?
It shouldn't. We choose a seal thick enough to stop the draft but not so thick that the door won't latch.
Can you weatherstrip windows that don't open?
Yes. For fixed or rarely used windows, foam or compression seals are usually enough. Gaps on the outside are better closed with caulking.
How long does weatherstripping last?
It depends on the material and how often the door is used. On a busy entry door, seals often need replacing every few years.
