A scratched finish, faded laminate or tired carpet usually means it is time to replace. We help you pick the right type for the room and install it.
A loose subfloor or uneven spots under the old floor are the usual cause. We screw down and level the subfloor before the new floor goes in.
Floating floors lift when there is no expansion gap or the subfloor is uneven. We reinstall them with proper gaps and underlayment.

Each type of floor suits different rooms. The right choice depends on moisture, foot traffic, pets and how long you plan to stay in the home.
Signs it's time to replace

- Laminate edges are swollen from spills or mopping.

Which floor where
Hardwood lasts for decades and can usually be refinished, but it does not like water, so it suits living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms. Laminate is hard-wearing and looks like wood, but most types swell if water sits on the seams. Luxury vinyl plank is often the best choice for kitchens, basements and bathrooms, since most types are waterproof. Every floor needs a flat, dry subfloor, and basements usually need an underlayment with a vapour barrier too. We measure, look at the subfloor and agree on the price before any work starts.

Questions about hardwood, laminate and vinyl flooring installation
Can you install over my existing floor?
Sometimes. Vinyl or laminate can often go over a flat, solid floor, but never over carpet. We check the height at doors and transitions first.
Does new flooring need to sit in the house first?
Most hardwood and many laminates need a few days in the room to adjust to the humidity. The manufacturer's instructions tell us how long.
What affects the cost of a new floor?
The size of the area, the type of flooring, the condition of the subfloor, any stairs, and how many doorways and transitions there are.
Do I need to move my furniture?
Please clear small and fragile items. If you need help moving large furniture or appliances, tell us when you book and we quote it separately.
Can you install flooring on stairs?
Yes, with matching stair nosing. Stairs take much longer than flat floors, so we price them separately after measuring.
