Landscape & Small Tree Wrap

Detailed Description
Protecting your landscape and spruce trees through the winter shouldn’t be complicated. At CNG Contracting, we make it simple with professional Landscape & Small Tree Wrap that shields your trees from harsh winds, heavy snow loads, and salt damage—keeping them healthy and looking great year-round, which safeguards your Toronto & GTA greenery against the harsh Canadian winter.
Our process starts with inspecting each tree to determine the best wrapping method based on its size, species, and wind exposure. We use breathable, durable materials like natural burlap that protect without trapping mold-causing moisture. We ensure the wrap blends naturally with your landscape—tight, even, and neat. No loose ends, just effective protection. On the day, we work efficiently and clean up thoroughly—friendly, careful, and done right the first time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does wrapping prevent salt damage?
Yes. For homes near busy roads or sidewalks, salt spray from passing cars is a major killer of cedars and spruce. Our high-density burlap acts as a filter, stopping the salt spray from reaching the foliage.
Can you wrap large hedges?
Absolutely. We install continuous burlap screens using wooden stakes for long cedar hedges. This barrier blocks the prevailing wind and salt without touching the foliage directly.
When do you remove the protection?
Timing is critical. We recommend removal in early spring (April) once the ground thaws and the risk of extreme frost has passed, allowing the tree to breathe and photosynthesize for the new season.
Why is a Technical Visit necessary?
Improper wrapping is often worse than no wrapping at all. If a tree is wrapped too tightly with non-breathable plastic, it can "cook" when the sun hits it in late winter (greenhouse effect), killing the needles. Conversely, loose wrapping can act as a sail, pulling the tree over in high winds. Our Landscape & Small Tree Wrap assessment evaluates the micro-climate of your yard to select the correct porous material and structural support method (staking vs. wrapping) for your specific plants.
