Frequently Asked Questions

Do you store the garden hoses?

We disconnect, fully drain, and neatly coil your garden hoses. We can hang them on your existing rack or store them in your garage/shed to prevent the rubber from cracking due to freezing cycles.

Do I need faucet covers if I turn off the water inside?

It is highly recommended. Even with the water shut off inside, a small amount of water can remain in the exterior section of the pipe. An insulated cover provides that extra layer of protection against extreme wind chill.

What if my shut-off valve is seized?

If we cannot turn off the water supply from inside due to an old or seized valve, we will alert you immediately. We can often replace the shut-off valve as part of a separate plumbing service to ensure you have control over your water supply.

Why is a Technical Visit necessary?

A common misconception is that "frost-free" faucets are immune to freezing. If a garden hose is left attached during freezing temperatures, it traps water inside the faucet barrel, preventing it from draining. As the water freezes and expands, it can split the copper pipe inside your wall, leading to a flooded basement when you turn the water on in spring. Our service ensures hoses are disconnected, lines are drained, and thermal covers are applied for maximum protection.
