Sensor Alignment

Detailed Description
Properly aligned sensors are critical for the safety and reliability of your automated systems. With our Sensor Alignment service, we inspect photo eyes and motion detectors, adjusting their position and angle to prevent false triggers or the frustration of a garage door that won't close. We test every connection to give you peace of mind that your Toronto & GTA home is protected and functioning smoothly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the light on my sensor blinking?
A blinking light on a garage door sensor usually indicates misalignment or a blockage. One sensor sends the beam (amber light) and one receives it (green light). We troubleshoot which side is failing to restore the solid light connection.
Can sunlight affect my sensors?
Yes. Direct sunlight hitting the receiving eye can "blind" the sensor, preventing the door from closing. We can install sun shields or swap the position of the sending and receiving units to fix this interference.
Do you align security motion sensors?
Yes. If your alarm triggers falsely or fails to pick up movement, we can adjust the angle and sensitivity settings, or apply "masking" tape inside the lens to block out pet zones while keeping the room secure.
Why is a Technical Visit necessary?
The most common reason a garage door reverses immediately after starting to close is a misaligned safety sensor. These "photo eyes" project an invisible infrared beam. If the sensor is bumped, loose, or even just dirty, the beam breaks, and the door assumes a child or pet is in the way. Our Sensor Alignment assessment uses alignment tools to lock the sensors back into perfect position and tightens the wing nuts to prevent future movement from vibration.
