Trim, Baseboard & Door Painting

Detailed Description
Well-painted trim, baseboards, and doors add the finishing touch that makes a Toronto & GTA home feel complete. At CNG Contracting, we focus on precise, clean, and long-lasting results with our Trim, Baseboard & Door Painting services.
Our process begins with careful preparation sanding rough spots, filling nail holes and gaps, and priming surfaces as needed to ensure smooth, even coverage. We guide you in selecting the right type of paint (usually semi-gloss or satin) to balance durability with aesthetics. During painting, we pay close attention to sharp lines and consistent coats, avoiding drips or brush marks. Our goal is a polished, professional look that enhances your space. On the day of service, we work efficiently and leave everything clean and ready to enjoy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you spray or brush the doors?
For the smoothest factory-like finish, we prefer to spray doors (removed from hinges) when possible. However, for occupied homes, we use high-quality self-leveling paints and fine-finish brushes/rollers to achieve a near-sprayed look without the overspray mess.
Do you caulk the gaps?
Absolutely. The difference between an amateur and a pro job is the caulking. We fill the gaps between the baseboard and the wall, and the trim joints, creating a seamless, airtight look.
What sheen should I use for trim?
We typically recommend Semi-Gloss or Satin. These finishes are durable, easy to clean (resistant to scuffs from vacuums or shoes), and provide a nice contrast to matte or eggshell walls.
Why is a Technical Visit necessary?
Painting trim isn't as simple as painting walls. If your existing trim was painted with oil-based paint (common in older Toronto homes) and you apply latex directly over it, the new paint will peel off in sheets. Our Trim, Baseboard & Door Painting assessment involves testing the existing finish to determine the correct primer and sanding method required to ensure a permanent bond and a chip-resistant finish.
